Purple Haze!

Hello all you beautiful people! I know it's been a while since I actually did a tutorial & none of my excuses will work but really, I was so so so sick and on top of that I was super busy working! But better late than never lol i'm here now!

Here's the look i'll be doing today!

So the whole concept of this makeup look was inspired by the color purple obviously. How I picked this color was that I was browsing on the internet just looking at pretty pictures & I saw this picture (Shown below), & said thought to myself, I love purple, this is purple, lets do this!

I love how there's shades of purple in there, & just one color make it look so beautiful!

Anyways, i'll stop blabbing now..

Let's get started!

As always, we're going to start with a clean face, moistured! I usually like applying my foundation after my eyes are complain, just so cleaning any fall out is way easier.

Prime your eyes! I used my Benefit Stay Don't Stay Primer.

My first shade is going to be this light purple, & apply this to the inner half of the lid.

Pack on the color & bring a little to the inner corner as well.

Now take a lightly darker shade of purple.

& apply that to the rest of the lid. Make sure you see the purple go from light to dark. Blend the purples together if there is any harsh line between them.

Now taking my mineral eye shadow in ombre, it's a very pretty dull purple.

Apply that to the outer corner of the eye & take a a bit in the crease. Very lightly with a fluffy brush go back and forth with the color in the crease, and make sure to pull some onto the lid as well.

Now taking my Naked Pallet 2,  I used the shade Bootycall

Apply that as a highlight on the brow bone & the inner corner of the eye.

This is optional but I wanted to intensify the look a tiny bit more, so I took a fluffy brush & BARELY touched the shade Blackout from the Naked Pallet 2.

Apply that to the outer corner and with a very light hand start blending it.

Alright almost done! Now just apply your eyeliner top and bottom lash line, or if you just prefer the top that's fine! I winged out my eyeliner but that all depends on your personal preference.

Lastly curl you're lashes & apply your favorite mascara & you're done !

Alright, so I do have some suggestions for the rest of the face, if interested keep reading :)

U se something to warm up the face after applying your foundation. I love this finishing powder in the color Sunkiss. It gives my face the perfect warm color.

Next, we don't want anything else on our face to overpower the eyes, so I would stick to something like MAC's blush MARGIN. I love love love this blush, one of my favorites to wear when i'm going out!

& we obviously want a nice color on our lips but at the same time making sure the eyes still stand out. So I would pick my current obsession right now. This pinky nude color called Velvet Teddy by MAC. It is a Matte lipstick so applying gloss over it is all up to you!

I hope you guys liked this look!

ELF HAUL/REVIEW

Alright my beauties! I'll stop giving excuses for my laziness now, please forgive me! But for this post I just wanted to take my time and use these products really well before I would base my opinions on them. So I did use these for a good month & now i'll all ready to tell you about the awesome products that really impressed me & some that were just a disappointment.

Disclaimer: Not sponsored. Everything was purchased by me with my own money. All opinion are my own.

Lets get started!

Okay so after I opened my package, this is what my ELF bag looked like...
I actually thought that's a pretty cool packaging for inexpensive makeup. So I was impressed with thaaat.

Moving on I will go through the products in categories. I did order more stuff but they sent me a letter with my purchases saying some products were out of stock. So I will list those products as I go along aswell.

BLUSHES

Elf Studio Baked Blush (Rich Rose)   $3.00

The swatch on the top is of the blush Rich Rose

Can I just start with saying how this is just 3 dollars! This blush is amazing for the price you are paying & this is DEFINITELY one of the things that I will purchase again. It's a really nice coral color, & I personally LOVE coral blushes. I think they look amazing on all skin tones. The pigmentation was also very good, it did stay on my skin for about a good 6 hours. It is shimmery since its a baked blush but the shimmer is still very flattering & looks very nice. I usually don't like shimmery blushes but this is a perfect blush for a night out look!

I did order Peechy Cheeky as well from the Baked Blushes but they were out of stock! :( I really wanted that as a highlight color since it's very light and shimmery. But oh well next time !

Elf Studio Blush (Mellow Mauve) $3.00

Swatch for Mellow Mauve

Okay I know i'm going to get killed for saying this... but I really DIDN'T like this blush! The color I got was mellow mauve because I thought It'd be an awesome every day blush.. but it really isn't! Ahhh I'm sorry but I hate it hate it hate it! The swatch doesn't look that bad but the pigmentation is SO bad. I literally had to rub my finger tip on the product for a like 15 seconds to get SOME color off. and when i swatch it, it's like it disappears... I don't know if it's just this color or the whole line. It can't be because I've heard some amazing reviews about them & I was just SO disappointed! I wanted to order more before but I'm glad I only got one of them... Just because of this I really don't think i'm ever gonna order these again :(

I have to admit, I love the packaging, it does remind me of the NARS blush packaging. They also have a little mirror inside, but I think that's useless too because it's a little too small.

So all in all for blushes, LOVE the Baked Blushes & very DISAPPOINTED about the Studio Blush Mellow Mauve

BAKED EYE SHADOW

Elf Studio Baked Eyeshadow (Bark) $3.00

Swatch for Bark

Oh my god. I cannot tell you guys how much I LOVE the Baked Eye shadows! I actually ordered all 6 colors they have, but only Bark was in stock :( But I will be purchasing all of them for sure because these shadows are VERY pigmented. They go on very smoothly, blend easily & just look amazing! I did wear mine with my Benefit Stay Don't Stray Primer & it actually stayed on all day long. I do have oily lids but my shadow looked perfect even at the end of the day! The packaging for the Baked line is pretty much the same for blushed and shadows, which is not bad at all.
So for the Baked Eye shadow, I'm very impressed & will be purchasing all of them soon! So worth every penny!

EYELID PRIMER

Elf Essential Eyelid Primer (Sheer) $1.00

Swatch (Sheer)

I don't have much to say about this just because it was $1.00 & I didn't expect much of it anyways. I only purchased the color Sheer & first of, there isn't much product in the packaging, I barely got any on the brush provided every time. Other than that instead of preventing of preventing my shadows from creasing, it made them crease faster. One good thing about it would be that it did make the shadows look nice, but only while they lasted! So I would not purchase this again even though it is only $1.00

BRUSHES

Face Brushes

Elf Studio Complexion Brush $3.00
LOVE this brush for applying powder all over my face. The bristles are really soft!

Elf Studio Blush Brush $3.00
I obviously love all the ELF brushes, I use the blush brush for blush & also to apply my bronzer.

Eye Shadow Brushes

Elf Studio Small Angled Brush $3.00
This is a really good brush for applying really precise eye liner. I usually use it for gel eyeliner.

Elf Studio Eye shadow "C" Brush $3.00

Awesome for applying color all over the lid & the brow bone.

 Elf Studio Contour Brush $3.00

This is one of my favorite brushes for the inner/outer crease & blending in any color in the crease.

Alright guys that's it for today! I hope this was helpful. Just for the last words I really want to recommend the ELF baked blushes & eye shadows they were really amazing! AND the ELF brushes, obvisouly I love them & I would definitely recommend them if you are just starting your collection. I know spending a lot of money on just brushes at the beginning can be a bit hard.

Good luck !
